Set for Life gets 10 times the make-over

Popular Lotto game Set for Life has been given a new lease of life with the introduction of a Division Two prize that is 10 times its current offering.

While the game’s Division One prize remains the same, $20,000 a month for 20 years for up to four winners, Division Two will be boosted to $5,000 a month for one year, for up to four winners.

Lotterywest spokesperson James Mooney said not only was the Division Two prize being given a generous increase, but the whole game’s matrix was changing so that the odds were more favourable.

“Currently Set for Life’s Division Two prize sits at around $6,000 so this new $5,000 a month annuity prize means a winner would take home $60,000 in total for the year,” he said.

“We’re also changing the game’s matrix to seven winning numbers out of 44 (it was eight out of 37), which means the odds of winning any prize have improved.”

More than 7 million WA players have won across all Set for Life divisions, sharing in more than $137 million since the game’s inception in 2015.

“There have been 58 national winners since the game started, 10 of which were from WA,” Mr Mooney said.

“One of our 2019 winners from Wongan Hills, said the first thing he would do with his winnings was take a trip to Legoland, but he hasn’t quite made it there yet.”

“It’s still on the cards,” he said.

“I’m first saving to buy a house.”

Pre-sales for the new Set for Life game start on Tuesday, March 17, with tickets starting from the first draw of the new game on Monday, 23 March.

Tickets can be bought in-store, online or via the app.
