Search for missing Lotto winner ahead of tonight’s $30 million jackpot

While Lotto players count down the hours until tonight’s $30 million Powerball jackpot is drawn, Lotterywest is still waiting to hear from a missing Division One winner.

The winning ticket produced in last weekend’s Saturday Lotto draw holds a prize of $403,233. It was purchased from Gateways News & Lottery Centre in Success.

It’s the fourth Division One winning ticket produced in the suburb of Success this year, officially making it Western Australia’s number one Lotto hot spot so far in 2018.

“It’s tracking well ahead of our number two ranked suburbs of Palmyra, the Perth CBD and Victoria Park which have each sold two,” said Lotterywest spokesperson Pina Compagnone.

Ms Compagnone said the wait for a Division One winner was unusual and that most winners were prompt in claiming their prizes.

“We find that most of them come forward within the first few days, however we have had cases where winners have taken months to come forward,” she said.

“Sometimes they’re on holidays, haven’t remembered to check their tickets or know they’re a winner and are simply waiting for the time that feels right for them to claim their Lotto windfall.”

In Western Australia, players have 12 months from the date of the draw to claim their prize.

Meanwhile, there is still time to secure a ticket in tonight’s $30 million Powerball jackpot.

Lotterywest confirmed over 300,000 tickets were expected to be purchased by local Lotto punters for tonight’s $30 million offer, which is the result of no player across the nation being able to match the winning Powerball numbers for the past five weeks.

Powerball tickets are available from Lotterywest in-store, online or through the app.

When you play with Lotterywest, you’re also helping to raise funds to support the local community through Lotterywest grants. Tonight’s $30 million jackpot is set to raise $1.6 million for the community.
