Powerball creates a WA multi-millionaire
A Western Australian ticket has secured a life-changing $25 million prize, after the ticket matched the numbers to win a share in tonight’s $50 million Powerball jackpot.
WA’s winning ticket, worth $25 million, was one of two Division One winners across the country, with the other ticket sold in the Northern Territory.
Lotterywest spokesperson Zoe Wender said tonight’s win is WA’s third Division One Powerball prize this year.
“It’s wonderful to be celebrating another significant Powerball win, which will no doubt be a life-changing moment for tonight’s ticketholder,” she said.
“Spring has proven to be fantastic for WA Powerball players, after a Peel woman in her 60s claimed a $20 million prize last month.”
Along with this $50 million win, WA is also celebrating more than 193,000 prizes across the other divisions, including one Division Two ticket worth more than $121,000 sold from The Lucky Charm Pinjarra.
The good news for WA continues with more than $10.3 million contributing to Lotterywest’s grants program thanks to this five-week Powerball jackpot roll.
A Lotterywest grant of $2.65 million has supported Dawesville’s new Community Centre, which is providing a contemporary space for local groups, families and young people to come together to work, learn and connect.
Tonight’s winning numbers are 11, 21, 15, 28, 10, 20 and 24 the Powerball is 20.
As the Division One prize is $25 million, Lotterywest will hold off sharing the exact location of where the ticket was sold, a policy which encourages the protection of the player.
