Northampton's three-peat

Northhampton Newsagency can honestly claim a three-peat with their third Lotto win in the past three years.

The historic town is celebrating its most recent win from last night’s Wednesday Lotto $1 million draw.

Northampton Newsagency owner Amanda Fraser said everyone was “pretty excited” and that it was a welcome change to have something nice to talk about, considering recent COVID-19 events.

“Farming life hasn’t stopped here so everyone is just going about their days as usual and being a small town, it’s been a nice distraction,” she said.

“The last time we had a million-dollar winner was 2017 and the winner was one of our regulars. He was waiting out front at 7am as he couldn’t wait to tell us but this time, we have no idea who the winner is.”

Northhampton Newsagency also had a $50,000 Scratch’n’Win winner in 2018 making this its third win in three years.

Lotterywest spokesperson Hermione Coleman said 2020 had been a good year for regional WA and that this million-dollar win took the total Division One wins to 31.

“Winning $1 million is a life-changing amount of money and we look forward to meeting the winner and sharing their story,” she said.

“Monday and Wednesday Lotto is a special game as it gives up to four people the chance to win $1 million.

“We encourage all of our players to play responsibly and only spend what they can afford.”

All available profits from Lotterywest tickets contribute to the COVID-19 Relief Fund which will help those in the community impacted.

The next chance to win big is in Saturday’s $20 million Superdraw on 20 June. Tickets can be purchased up until 6pm on the day of the draw in-store, online or via the app.
