Western Australians have another reason to celebrate the new financial year, with one WA ticket scoring a Division One prize in tonight’s $30 million Megadraw.
The winning ticket, now worth almost $4.3 million, is one of seven Division One tickets sold across the country. The other winning tickets were sold in Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland.
WA’s Division One winning ticket was sold from The Lucky Charm Harrisdale.
Lotterywest spokesperson Zoe Wender said to make sure to check your ticket, considering one of Lotterywest’s previous Megadraw winners had initially forgotten about their winning ticket, which was in their bag for a week.
“That winner won $3.3 million so you could say she was lugging around WA’s most expensive handbag,” she said.
“It’s fantastic to be celebrating a Division One winner in WA tonight and we can’t wait to meet them.”
Tonight, 21 WA players can also celebrate Division Two Saturday Lotto wins, with their tickets now worth more than $11,000 each.
Plus, a WA ticket sold through Lotterywest Play Online won a Division One prize in tonight's Super66 draw, and is now worth more than $53,000.
Thanks to WA players and retailers, $4.1 million from tonight’s ticket sales - including a grant of $799,825 towards the fit-out of St John of God Outreach Services’ Horizon House in Leederville - will benefit the WA community.
Horizon House supports disadvantaged young mothers and babies experiencing homelessness.
The winning numbers from tonight’s draw are 17, 23, 40, 42, 44 and 2 the supplementary numbers are 27 and 39.
