Kardinya couple flip flop their way to $4 million Lotto win

A Kardinya couple has come forward to claim one of two $4 million Division One prizes produced across Western Australia in the weekend’s Saturday Lotto Superdraw.

Their Slikpik 30 ticket is from Kardinya Park Newsagency and Cards, while the other winning ticket, from newsXpress Centrepoint in Midland, remains unclaimed.

“I saw the winning numbers in the paper but I didn’t know how much we’d won until my partner went online to see the prize value,” the winner said.

The couple said they were taking some time to think about how they could use the money to help others, along with camping plans and a rather unconventional wish.

“Maybe a new pair of thongs,” the man said.

“We’ll just keep trotting along, no plans to stay in a five-star hotel but we’ll be more than happy to sleep under the stars.”

Lotterywest spokesperson Pina Compagnone said a combined $50 million worth of jackpots were on offer this week.

“With 50 Division One winners who have shared in almost $66 million so far this year across our State, we’re hoping to welcome a few more this week,” Ms Compagnone said.

Tomorrow night a $10 million OZ Lotto prize will be drawn, before a $40 million Powerball jackpot on Thursday.

Tickets are available until 6pm draw day from Lotterywest in-store, online or via the app.

All available profits from Lotterywest tickets go towards the Lotterywest COVID-19 Relief Fund which support organisations and people experiencing hardship due to COVID-19.
