It’s a $60 million Powerball Thursday

If ever there was a time to get together with friends, family or work mates to buy a Lotto ticket, this is the week.

Tomorrow’s Powerball has jackpotted to a mighty $60 million and as the saying goes, you’ve got to be ‘in it to win it’.

If just one WA ticket scoops the entire Division One prize it would be the second biggest lottery win of the year so far.

The record for the state’s largest Lotto win was set at the end of last year when a group of 55 women from a northern suburbs gym won the $80 million Powerball prize.

Earlier this year saw a syndicate from Kalgoorlie take home a $63 million share of the $120 million jackpot Division One prize pool.

Lotterywest Spokesperson Lisa Williams said thousands of WA players are expected to get behind tomorrow’s jackpot with over 570,000 tickets estimated to be sold across the state.

“With such a significant jackpot, we’re expecting it to be busy in-store leading up to tomorrow night,” Ms Williams said.

“The busiest time for ticket sales is usually between 4pm and 5pm on draw day, so make sure you get your tickets early to beat the rush.”

“Joining a syndicate and sharing the cost of the ticket is a fun way to play and with $60 million on offer, there is more than enough to go around.”

The most frequently drawn Powerball numbers this year have been 16, which has been drawn five times, 11 drawn four times and the numbers 9, 18, 7 and 17 which have each been drawn three times.

An estimated $10 million is expected to be raised for the WA community from this Powerball’s five-week jackpot run.

Players are encouraged to play responsibly and spend only what they can afford.
