Helena Valley man takes home $3.3 million Superdraw prize

A Helena Valley man has come forward to claim his winning share in last month’s $20 million Saturday Lotto Superdraw almost two weeks after the draw.

In his 30s, the man bought a Slikpik 18 ticket from Here's Luck Lottery Centre in Cloverdale, which is now worth $3.33 million.

He said while not a regular weekly player, he bought tickets when there was a jackpot.

“I had bought tickets for both OZ Lotto and Powerball and since there was a $20 million Superdraw, I thought, why not?,” he said.

“We’ll pay off the mortgage, put money aside for the kids’ education and book a trip to Croatia first chance we get.”

Lotterywest spokesperson James Mooney said focus has now shifted to tomorrow night’s $50 million OZ Lotto jackpot, which could match a WA record.

“WA’s biggest Division One winner has stood since July 2015, when a ticket from NewsXpress Armadale Central matched the numbers to a $50 million prize,” Mr Mooney said.

“Recent history has seen WA come close, with a couple of $30 million Division One winners, but it would be nice to match the $50 million 2015 record.

“Our advice is to get your tickets early, as we’re expecting WA tickets sales to peak on draw day, with almost 400 tickets sold each minute between 4pm and 5pm.“

Tickets are available up until 6pm on draw day in-store, online or via the app.
