An Eaton woman’s $5 early Christmas present has turned into something much bigger.
The woman, in her 30’s, said she received the $5 Wordplay from her husband as an early Christmas gift.
“At first I thought I had won $200 and I was happy with that,” she said.
“I went to the local retailer and they told me I had won a bit more than that.”
In fact, her $5 Super Word Play ticket from Eaton Fair Lottery Kiosk is now worth $75,000.
“I was getting in a bit of trouble from my husband for buying too many Christmas presents, but now this win makes up for it,” she said.
Lotterywest spokesperson James Mooney said the win is the 69th Scratch‘n’Win Top Prize handed out in Western Australia this year.
“As we close out 2020, it would be great to see some more winners start 2021 with a life changing head start,” he said.
“There’s still time to grab tickets for the $30 million Megadraw on 2 January 2021, which are available from Lotterywest in-store, online or via the app.”
