Early Christmas gift for Bunbury Lotto winner

Christmas has come early for a Bunbury man after winning more than $1 million dollars on his Saturday Lotto ticket, purchased from Nextra Crosslands Newsagency.

The man said that he’d almost given up on buying his regular Slikpik ticket after going a few months without a significant prize.

“I was checking my ticket on Sunday morning and thought I’d won Division Two, thinking that was pretty good,” he said.

“I then double checked the numbers to be sure and realised that I’d actually matched all six winning numbers.

“I never thought I’d ever win Division One!”

The man said he was looking forward to buying a house so he could stop renting and buying a new car.

Lotterywest spokesperson Hermione Coleman said December had been a busy month for WA winners.

“We’ve just finished welcoming 55 wonderful women into the Winner’s Room, who took out Powerball’s $80 million Division One prize, and we’re thrilled to be able to welcome more just before Christmas,” she said.

WA’s tally of Division One winners for the year has reached 69.

This ticket from Nextra Crosslands Newsagency was one of two Division One winning tickets sold in WA over the weekend.

Lotterywest is still waiting for the other $1 million winning ticket to be claimed which was purchased from Here’s Luck Lottery Centre in Cloverdale.

All eyes have now turned to this year’s $40 million Megadraw, to be held on New Year’s Eve.

Tickets are available from Lotterywest in-store, online or via the app.
