A couple of hours makes the difference in Lotto win

A Bayswater cleaner will be glad she was ahead of schedule after a small change in habit led to her Saturday Lotto Division One win.

Saturday Lotto has been part of her weekly schedule for decades, however this week she bought her ticket earlier in the day, going against her regular timetable.

Being ahead of schedule that day turned her Slikpik 12 from Swan Lotteries Kiosk in Bassendean, into a Division One prize worth $410,606.

“I went earlier to get my ticket this time by a couple of hours,” she said.

“I can’t tell you how many times I checked the ticket as the numbers came up on the first line.”

Lotterywest spokesperson Pina Compagnone said Western Australia’s latest winner has only added to the interesting stories shared by the State’s Division One winners in 2020.

“This year, we’ve seen winners who have used the same numbers for 30 years, to someone randomly buying a ticket on their wedding day because they were feeling lucky,” Ms Compagnone said.

“For this winner it was buying a ticket a couple of hours ahead of schedule.

“We’re hoping to hear from another WA winner after Tuesday’s $15 million OZ Lotto draw.”

All available profits from Lotterywest tickets contribute to the COVID-19 Relief Fund which will help those in the community impacted.
