1 billion OZ Lotto hidden heroes

It’s not just Division One winners that lay claim to all the glory when it comes to winning Lotto.

Ahead of Tuesday’s $80 million OZ Lotto draw, Lotterywest can reveal in just over 10 years, OZ Lotto has returned nearly $1 billion in prize money to more than 23 million Western Australian players across all Divisions.

Lotterywest spokesperson Hermione Coleman said although everyone had their eye on the Division One prize, other Divisions were not to be discounted.

“Since 2007 more than $450 million in OZ Lotto Division One prize money has been won by WA players and $919 million across all Divisions,” she said.

Ms Coleman said one hot tip to increase your chances of winning in more than one Division is to play with a System ticket.

“Systems generate combinations of numbers to increase your odds and because this ticket type multiplies the number of games you’re playing, a winning entry pays multiple prizes,” she said.

It is estimated about 500,000 tickets will be sold for this week’s $80 million OZ Lotto draw  – which would mean one in four Western Australians plan to buy themselves a piece of the action.

The most popular ticket type to have been bought for OZ Lotto over the past five years in WA is a Slikpik 12, followed by a Slikpik 18 and a System 8 ticket.

“Joining a syndicate is also a great way to play because by sharing the cost, you can play more games and increase your chances of winning. And if you do win, you will be sharing the joy with others,” Ms Coleman said.

Players are encouraged to spend only what they can afford.

Tickets for Tuesday’s OZ Lotto draw are available until 6pm from Lotterywest in-store, online or via the app.
