WA records another win ahead of $160 million Powerball jackpot

A northern suburbs man has turned his $40 Powerball win from last week into $700,000 after he decided to use the prize money to buy a ticket for the Saturday Lotto draw over the weekend.

The Division One winning ticket was among seven across the country to match the winning numbers and sold from Carramar Lottery Centre & News in Morley.

“After winning a small amount of money from last week’s Powerball, I decided to use the prize money to buy a ticket for Saturday Lotto – I’m really glad I made that decision,” he said.

“I’m definitely feeling lucky at the moment, I’ve already got my ticket for the $160 million Powerball jackpot for Thursday and hoping my luck continues.”

Lotterywest spokesperson Alana Christian said it’s a big week for Lotto.

“It’s fantastic to see our state’s Lotto win tally on the rise ahead of the $160 million Powerball jackpot,” she said.

“Powerball has been good to WA recently, with two Powerball Division One wins in the last 12 months seeing WA players share in over $140 million.”

While all eyes are on Thursday’s record-breaking $160 million Powerball jackpot, player’s also have the chance to take home $10 million in tomorrow’s OZ Lotto jackpot.
