Will this be a record week for WA Powerball players

Last week Powerball hit $60 million and opened the door for the chance of a new record for Western Australian players.

“Thursday’s Powerball jackpot is at $60 million and a single WA entry would create our largest Division One winner,” Lotterywest spokesperson James Mooney said.

The biggest prize in WA Lotto history was on Powerball when a Perth family took out the entire $50 million Division One prize in July 2015.

The national record is $107 million for a Sydney woman in January 2019.

“We would really love to see a WA entry take out the big one this Thursday,” Mr Mooney said.

Meanwhile, the search is on for two WA Division One players, a $692,000 Saturday Lotto prize from Mandurah and an Albany Super66 prize worth almost $100,000.

These two winners have made a dent in in WA’s northern suburbs dominance in 2020, with five players from north of the river matching the numbers so far.

“The start of the year has seen players north of the river claim bragging rights as WA’s most successful Lotto spot for 2020,” Mr Mooney said.

“February has flipped this winning streak on its head as we now wait to hear from our latest Division One winners, both from WA’s south in Mandurah and Albany.”

Powerball tickets are available from Lotterywest in-store, online or through the app.

Players are encouraged to play responsibly.

Lotterywest recently provided a $1.6 million grant to revamp the Albany Town Hall.

While in Mandurah, Lotterywest provided a grant towards new boats for the Mandurah Marine Rescue Group.
