“This Powerball jackpot is a new national record and we’re hoping for a Western Australian winner or even better, a WA syndicate to take out Division One,” Mr Mooney said.

“This history-making $150 million jackpot is another opportunity for workmates, family or friends to team up in a syndicate and hopefully share in a Powerball dream.

“Thanks to this nine-week Powerball run we’re expecting to raise more than $25 million for the WA community."

Mr Mooney said the Division One winners Lotterywest has stayed in touch with have overwhelmingly reported their lives changing for the better as a result of their wins.

“We recently checked in on the family who won $50 milllion on Powerball in 2015, and they told us that they expanded their business, and have quietly helped out family and friends," Mr Mooney said.

“Quietly because only a handful of people know that they won.”
