Wednesday Lotto winner says bye bye to blow up pool

A Butler couple are now millionaires after checking their Wednesday Lotto ticket stashed in their phone case for almost a week.

The $1 million ticket from Padbury News and Post was one of two WA sold Division One Wednesday Lotto tickets.

The couple in their 40s said the win has boosted their budget for a new home and set them up for a memorable Christmas.

“I was waiting for my next pay to sort out Christmas presents for the kids, now their list is a whole lot bigger,” she said.

“The big thing for us is to buy a new house and say bye bye to our blow up pool.”

Lotterywest spokesperson Jennie Fitzhardinge said another WA Division One winner is yet to claim their Christmas boost.

“It’s heart-warming to know this young family from Butler will head into Christmas with a $1 million prize as an early present,” Ms Fitzhardinge said.

“We’d also love to bring some Christmas cheer to the owner of a ticket from Carnarvon Lottery News and Gifts worth almost $588,000.

“And for the ultimate Christmas gift, why not get a ticket in the $30 million Megadraw drawn on December 28. You might just end the year a multi-millionaire.”
