WA community the $23 million Powerball jackpot winner

An online ticket purchased in NSW has taken out tonight’s entire $100 million Powerball jackpot, which due to unprecedented interest has delivered a final prize of $107.5 million.

The prize has smashed the standing record of $70 million to become the largest national lottery prize won.

Although no Western Australian was lucky enough to take out tonight’s multimillion dollar jackpot, 495,742 local players picked up prizes across Divisions Two to Nine sharing in almost $9 million.

This included two Division Two winning tickets, each worth $94,792, purchased from The Lucky Charm Kalamunda and a Lotterywest membership online.

“While we would have been thrilled for WA to have taken out the Division One prize pool, the good news is that more than $23 million has been raised over the jackpot run to support the WA community through Lotterywest grants,” said Lotterywest CEO Susan Hunt.

“When you play Lotterywest games, the money stays in WA,” she added.

Ms Hunt said over one million tickets were sold across WA in tonight’s Powerball jackpot, with tickets peaking at 1,200 each minute.

Tonight’s winning numbers were 20, 18, 33, 22, 11, 26 and 4 and the Powerball number 9.

The next chance for WA players to win big is in next Tuesday’s $15 million OZ Lotto jackpot.

Tickets can be purchased until 6pm day of draw from Lotterywest in-store, online or via the app.
