A ticket mix-up has steered an engaged couple to a Saturday Lotto prize of more than $883,000.
The Nollamara duo said a miscommunication saw the Morley Millions outlet produce a Slikpik 18.
“I usually buy the cheapest one, but this time they gave me a Slikpik 18,” she said.
“I just said, “all good” and stuffed it into my wallet.”
Their choice to go with a different ticket on this occasion has now seen the couple come forward as WA’s latest Division One winner.
“I checked the ticket on Sunday morning and all of a sudden I started circling all these numbers,” the winner said.
“I always had a feeling; I knew it in my bones that I was going to win the lotto.”
Meanwhile another Saturday Lotto prize, from a Lotterywest membership online, will be shared between three mates.
Lotterywest spokesperson Hermione Coleman said this isn’t the first time a ticket mix-up has created a fortune surprise.
“It was just last month a northern suburbs couple went to buy their usual Slikpik 12, but the retailer accidentally issued them a Slikpik 18,” she said.
“Their choice to hold on to that ticket turned into to a million-dollar prize.
“The next chance to win big before Christmas is in tonight's Powerball draw worth $20 million and then all eyes are on Megadraw where there is $30 million up for grabs on 2 January.”
Tickets are available from Lotterywest in-store, online or via the app.
Thanks to those that purchase Lotterywest tickets, all available profits are returned to support the WA community.
