Seven-week syndicate sees Division One win

It took just seven weeks for one Perth workplace syndicate to match the numbers to claim a Saturday Lotto Division One prize worth $369,611.

The syndicate members picked two numbers each during their weekly 'board meeting'.

“I was at home when I checked our numbers and noticed we got four, then five, then oh wow," one of the winners said.

“I didn’t have my workmates phone numbers so I had to Facebook stalk them to tell them the news.”

The syndicate bought their System 8 ticket from Nextra Cloisters in Perth.

The winners are set to have a small celebration before heading back to work.

“I might use some of my winnings on my mortgage, maybe my super, or maybe a Porsche,” the winner said.

Lotterywest spokesperson Hermione Coleman said this Saturday is another chance for WA players get involved in Saturday Lotto.

“It’s less than 24 hours until Million-Yeah Saturday launches this weekend – it’s a special event that’s all about creating millionaires,” Ms Coleman said.

“Million-Yeah Saturday is just like a usual Saturday Lotto draw, where Division One winners share in the estimated $4 million prize pool, however for this draw we are boosting the Division One prize to create more millionaires.

“If there are eight or less Division One winners and their share of the prize pool is less than $1 million, we’ll top them up to a guaranteed $1 million prize – and we’ll do this for up to eight winners. If there are nine or more Division One winners, they will equally share in $8 million*.”
