Primo parking spot leads to Saturday Lotto Division One win

A Saturday Lotto player believes his parking spot right outside Bishop Street Newsagency in Morley has steered him to a six-figure Division One win.

The man, from Inglewood, said after realising he had parked directly outside the newsagency, he decided to grab a ticket.

That split-second decision turned into a syndicate ticket share worth $140,414, which was shared between five winners of the Division One $702,000 prize.

“I was paying a bill when I discovered I’d parked right outside a Lotterywest retailer,” the winner said.

“At first I got into my car, but then said to myself, “no I’ll go and grab a ticket”.”

The syndicate ticket was a 50 game Slikpik, organised through the Bishop Street Newsagency.

Lotterywest spokesperson Hermione Coleman said a syndicate was the ideal way to boost your odds with more entries into a game without the adding to the cost.

“We’d love to see Thursday’s $40 million Powerball jackpot go to a Western Australian syndicate, so more players can share in a life changing prize,” Ms Coleman said.

“A syndicate with family or friends would make sharing in a $40 million windfall that much sweeter.”

Meanwhile the search for a Monday Lotto winner from Armadale continues. The ticket from Champion Drive News is worth $1 million.
