WA players have the chance to win a life-changing and potentially recording breaking prize in tonight’s $100 million Powerball jackpot.
Tonight’s $100 million jackpot is Powerball’s largest prize on offer this year and only the 12th time Powerball has offered a $100 million prize in the game’s 29-year history.
If a WA ticket takes out the entire jackpot, it would become WA’s largest Division One prize on record and make WA Lotto history.
Lotterywest CEO Colin Smith said it would be fantastic to rewrite WA’s Lotto history books tonight with a significant win for WA players.
“WA’s biggest prize on record is an $80 million Powerball prize, shared by a group of 55 ladies from a northern suburbs gym in 2021,” Mr Smith said.
“When we see jackpots reach these heights it’s a fantastic chance for friends, family or workmates to come together and create a syndicate to share the cost of a ticket and hopefully the joy of a win.
“In April we saw a trio of friends from Perth’s eastern suburbs share a $30 million Powerball jackpot thanks to purchasing a ticket for $8.05, which is an incredible result for these players.”
Up to half of Australia’s adults are expected to have an entry in tonight’s draw.
The busiest period for ticket sales is expected on Thursday afternoon between 4pm and 5pm where around 830 Lotto tickets will be sold each minute.
