Powerball powers to $80 million jackpot

With no one across the nation matching the winning numbers in tonight’s Powerball jackpot, the game has powered to $80 million – the second largest in the game’s history.

The latest jackpot follows close behind a record $100 million Powerball jackpot offered in August last year.

Lotterywest spokesperson Pina Compagnone said although the multimillion prize pool was still up for grabs, almost 644,000 WA players had picked up a Powerball prize in Divisions Two to Nine over the last seven week jackpot roll.

“This includes 195,469 WA players who took home a Powerball prize tonight,” she said.

Ms Compagnone said thousands of WA players got behind tonight’s jackpot, with close to half a million tickets entered across the State.

“When you play Lotterywest games, the money stays in WA,” she said.

“Over the Powerball jackpot roll, almost $10 million has been raised to support the WA community, and next Thursday’s draw is set to raise millions more.”

Tickets in the $80 million Powerball jackpot are available until 6pm next Thursday from Lotterywest in-store, online or via the app.

Players are encouraged to play responsibly and spend only what they can afford. The cost of a ticket can be shared by joining with family, friends or work colleagues to form a syndicate.
