Maylands’ mystery millionaire yet to claim $1.3 million Saturday Lotto win

One lucky Western Australian is waking up $1.3 million richer after it was revealed Maylands Park Lottery Centre & News produced a Division 1 winning Saturday Lotto ticket at the weekend.

The ticket, which remains unclaimed, was one of three Division 1 tickets sold across the country and marks the State’s 59th Division 1 win for the year.

Store owner Steven Kong said the Maylands community was buzzing with news of the win.

“It’s a great time to live in Maylands,” Mr Kong said.

“Not only have we just been named one of the top three coolest neighbourhoods in Australia by Lonely Planet, now we’re one of the luckiest,” he said.

“The store has been packed this morning with people coming in to check and recheck their tickets – everyone is hoping they could be Maylands’ mystery millionaire.”

“I hope they come in soon – the suspense is killing me,” he laughed.

Mr Kong said that the Saturday Lotto draw also produced a record five Division 2 wins worth almost $12,000 each.

“Those tickets were sold in Beechboro, Belridge, Cunderdin, Belmont and via the Lotterywest Membership,” he said.

“And although we’ve given away a huge amount of prize money this weekend, it’s important to remember that it’s a win-win when you play with Lotterywest.”

“Not only are you in with a chance of becoming an instant millionaire but when you play with Lotterywest one third of every dollar you spend is returned to community organisations across the State,” he added.
