The Problem Gambling Support Services Committee has launched a major advertising campaign to encourage people affected by problem gambling to access free and confidential counselling services.
The 'Show Gambling Who's Boss' campaign was launched at Centrecare by Racing and Gaming Minister Paul Papalia and will be rolled out across social and online media over the next 12 months.
The campaign is funded by the Problem Gambling Support Services Committee - featuring Lotterywest.
The committee funds a 24/7 helpline, online counselling and face-to-face counselling services for those affected by problem gambling.
The campaign targets males aged 20 to 40 years who continue to be the most at-risk group, although the percentage of Western Australians with gambling problems remains low compared to other States.
Advertising will also be placed throughout TAB locations and broadcast on radio during events where peak gambling takes place including the Commonwealth Games, FIFA World Cup and Melbourne Cup.
