Youth Minister Peter Tinley today presented a Lotterywest grant of $441,659 to the youth cancer organisation Canteen for improvements to the Western Australian service hub in Nedlands.
The funding will go towards a range of equipment upgrades and increased capacity for access of support services for young people impacted by cancer, including those living in regional or remote areas.
The upgrades will include:
- two new counselling rooms;
- a private space for telephone and video conferencing counselling services;
- an expanded training/meeting room with IT fit out;
- an informal meeting space with kitchen facilities;
- improved toilet facilities; and
- safety modifications to the ramped access.
