A Woodvale couple is proof that patience is a virtue after the numbers they have used for 16 years paid off with a Saturday Lotto win.
The couple were one of three WA Division One winners in last Saturday’s draw and are set to take home $369,611 thanks to their System 8 ticket from Woodvale Boulevard Newsagency.
The husband said the win meant they can retire, plan another holiday and purchase a new stove top.
“I was having my coffee on Sunday morning when I saw the results. I jumped up and screamed “they’re my numbers!”,” he said.
Lotterywest spokesperson Hermione Coleman said Saturday Lotto’s draw produced three winners and fingers are now crossed for this coming Saturday.
“Million-Yeah Saturday launches this weekend – it’s a brand new special event that’s all about creating millionaires,” Ms Coleman said.
“Million-Yeah Saturday is just like a usual Saturday Lotto draw, where Division One winners share in the estimated $4 million prize pool, however for this draw we are boosting the Division One prize to create more millionaires.
“If there are eight or less Division One winners and their share of the prize pool is less than $1 million, we’ll top them up to a guaranteed $1 million prize – and we’ll do this for up to eight winners! If there are nine or more Division One winners, they will equally share in $8 million*.”
