Greenfields man swings into fortune

A shocked FIFO worker from Greenfields has his fortnightly work swing to thank for his $740,000 Lotto prize.

The man in his 40s, said every time he flies home from work, he routinely grabs a Lotto ticket from Mandurah Greenfields Newsagency. This time, his fortnightly grind struck him Saturday Lotto gold.

“Oh yeah, I love routine. It’s probably why I love my job and being on the clock,” he said.

“I’ve had a hard year, so I’m in shock that something good has finally happened.

“Nothing stood out to me the day I bought it. And I’ve been walking around with this thing in my wallet for a whole week, thank god I didn’t lose it.”

Lotterywest spokesperson Hermione Coleman said there’s still time to grab a ticket ahead of Saturday’s draw.

“This year we’ve welcomed Division One winners from Albany to Exmouth,” Ms Coleman said.

“Western Australia is home to 52 Division One winners so far this year, 43 have come from Saturday Lotto.”

Tickets are available until 6pm from Lotterywest in-store, online or via the app.

All available profits from Lotterywest tickets go towards the Lotterywest COVID-19 Relief Fund which support organisations and people experiencing hardship due to COVID-19.
