First Western Australian Set for Life in 2020

Western Australia has welcomed its first Set for Life winner for 2020.

The owner of an online account is now in line for the top prize of $20,000 a month for 20 years.

Monday’s madness for WA didn’t stop there, with a Monday Lotto ticket sold from Champion Drive News in Armadale now worth $1 million.

The news follows Saturday Lotto’s draw, which Lotterywest can now reveal a syndicate ticket with five players from Bishop Street Newsagency will share in $702,073.

Lotterywest Spokesperson James Mooney said it was fantastic to see a variety of WA winners across a range of Lotterywest games.

“We can’t wait to hear from the owner of this Set for Life ticket who will now be $20,000 a month for the next 20 years richer,” Mr Mooney said.

“The good news for Set for Life doesn’t end here as an upcoming change to the game matrix will make the odds more favourable for players.

“We’re changing the game’s matrix to seven winning numbers out of 44 (it was eight out of 37), which means the odds of winning any prize have improved.”

“Currently Set for Life’s Division Two prize sits at around $6,000, however the new changes will see a new Division Two prize of $5,000 a month for a year.”

More than 7 million WA players have won across all Set for Life divisions, sharing in more than $137 million since the game’s inception in 2015.

There have now been 59 national winners since the game started, 11 of which were from WA.

Pre-sales for the new Set for Life game start on Tuesday, March 17, with tickets starting from the first draw of the new game on Monday, 23 March.

Tickets can be bought in-store, online or via the app.
