Double win brings early Christmas cheer

Two Saturday Lotto tickets have turned into early Christmas cheer for two Western Australian players.

The tickets, from Carnarvon Lottery News and Gifts, and Darch Plaza Newsagency, are worth close to $588,000 each.

Alongside the two tickets that matched the numbers 10, 30, 16, 22, 38 and 20, WA also took home 14 Division Two winners totalling just over $110,000.

Lotterywest spokesperson Hermione Coleman said the two winners have boosted the State’s Division One tally for 2019 to 53.

“In 2018 WA welcomed 57 Division One winners, so as we edge closer to the end of 2019 we would love to surpass this number,” Ms Coleman said.

“It’s fantastic to see another Division One ticket sold in one of our regional areas; it just proves your ticket could be the one, anywhere at any time.”

Thanks to our players, the past year has seen Lotterywest’s grants program provide more than $1.2 million towards not-for-profit groups in Carnarvon.

The next opportunity for WA players to win is tonight's Monday Lotto draw where up to four people are in with a chance to $1 million.

Players are encouraged to play responsibly.
