Dianella delivers $1 million Lotto windfall

A lucky Western Australian will be adding their name to the Division One winner’s list following last night’s Wednesday Lotto draw.

The $1 million winning ticket was sold from Nextra Dianella.

Nextra Dianella manager Mellisa Brown said a local Lotto win was set to create excitement in the 6059 postcode.

“We’re certainly hoping it’s a deserving winner and hopefully a regular of ours,” she said.

“It’s exciting knowing they haven’t realised the win yet.

“I’m sure once they see our Division One sign our regulars will be rushing to check their tickets.”

The ticket remains unclaimed and its winner, a mystery. But it’s not the only winning mystery surrounding a Lotto ticket in WA. Lotterywest is still waiting to meet a Saturday Lotto winner who is unaware they are more than $790,000 richer, when they purchased their ticket from Woolworths in Karratha back in May.

Lotterywest spokesperson Hermione Coleman said players had just hours to get their hands on a Powerball ticket for tonight’s $20 million draw.

“Last night’s win is our 38th Division One winner for the year, so we’re averaging more than one a week and we are really hoping for a Powerball win tonight,” she said.

Last financial year, thanks to Lotterywest players, $736 million was given back to the Western Australian community through prizes and grants.

Over the last 12 months Lotterywest has supported three organisations in the local Dianella community with more than $35,000. This includes supporting the Coastal Scottish Pipe Band towards equipment for their community performances of traditional Scottish pipe music.
