Celebrating with a song and a prayer

A Dalyellup family had the joyful task of deciding what song to listen to during their road trip to Lotterywest to claim their $1 million Monday Lotto prize.

Their Slikpik 18 ticket was sold from Dalyellup News and Lotteries.

“We were at the shops and decided to check our ticket, but it didn’t show the prize,” the winner said.

“The man at the shop told us, ‘Well, you have won Division One!’

“For the big family trip up we had Billionaire sung by Bruno Mars on.”

The family have been regular players and had a $15,000 win a few years back.

The family said they would say a prayer each time that they would select a ticket and now plan to use their prize on their mortgage and a family holiday.

Lotterywest Spokesperson Jennie Fitzhardinge said she was hopeful WA’s Lotto luck would continue this week.

“Hopefully more Western Australians will be singing their favourite happy song after tonight’s $40 million OZ Lotto draw,” Ms Fitzhardinge said.

“There’s still time to grab a ticket in tonight’s draw. Tickets are available until 6pm from Lotterywest in-store, online or via the app.

Ms Fitzhardinge reminded Lotterywest players in Northam and Karratha to check their tickets.

“We are also still on the lookout for two Saturday Lotto winners who are yet to claim their Division One prize, a new millionaire from Northam and someone in Karratha who is $790,000 richer.”
Players have 12 months from draw date to claim their prizes.
