Beechboro makes a Monday Lotto millionaire

Today might be the race that stops the nation with many Australians hoping for a Melbourne Cup win, but overnight one lucky Western Australian secured a million dollar prize in last night’s Monday Lotto draw.

The unclaimed ticket was purchased from Springs News in Beechboro, and makes the 44th Division One winner across WA this year.

Owner of the store Denise Vuletich said it was the second Division One winning ticket sold at Springs News in just seven months.

“This follows a win we had worth just over a million dollars in April,” she said.

“That’s now four Division One winning tickets we’ve produced since the store opened eight years ago – that’s pretty incredible.”

Ms Vuletich said she put the luck down to a positive attitude and good customer service.

While we wait to uncover last night’s instant millionaire, a second Lotto fortune remains unclaimed.

The Saturday Lotto ticket from last weekend holds an unclaimed prize of $441,295 that was purchased from Lakers News in Lakelands.

WA’s recent run of big winners could be a sign of good things to come in this Thursday’s $60 million Powerball jackpot.

It’s the third largest jackpot the game has offered this year and Lotterywest said it was set to capture the imagination of players across the State.

“We expect local players to purchase close to half a million tickets in Thursday’s jackpot,” Lotterywest spokesperson Pina Compagnone said.

“We would encourage players to get their tickets early, with peak periods in the last few hours leading into the draw set to see about 500 tickets purchased each minute.”

Tickets for the jackpot are available until 6pm Thursday from Lotterywest in-store, online or through the app.

When you play with Lotterywest all if WA wins – thanks to support from players purchasing tickets in the Powerball jackpot roll, over $10 million has been raised for the WA community through Lotterywest grants.
