The wait is over with Western Australia’s latest 1st Prize Set for Life winner coming forward to finally collect their prize a week after the draw.
The Balga couple will receive $20,000 each month for the next 20 years.
The dedicated players, who’ve been playing Set for Life every day since it was launched, said they hadn’t been able to catch a wink of sleep overnight since finding out the news.
“I’ve been pacing up and down the bedroom all night,” the woman said.
“I’m not sure how to explain my reaction – I think it’s a mix of shock, excitement and just feeling a little numb,” she added.
The couple, who purchased their winning ticket from Fieldgate News and General Store in Balga, said there were a few exciting plans now they had become Set for Life.
“We’re going on a decent cruise,” the man said.
“Cruising the Mediterranean sounds pretty good,” he added.
“We’ll also help a few close family and friends who are in real need of some financial help,” he said.
WA’s latest winners contribute to the fast growing tally of Division 1 Lotto and 1st Prize winners across the State which has reached 11 so far this year – they’ve shared in almost $19 million worth of prize money.
This week shows no sign of slowing down with a combined $45 million worth of jackpots on offer.
It all starts with tonight’s $30 million OZ Lotto jackpot – followed by a $15 million Powerball jackpot on Thursday.
Tickets are available until 6pm draw day from Lotterywest in-store, online or through the app.
When you play with Lotterywest, a majority of money spent on tickets is returned back to WA through prizes and grants.
Last financial year, over $440 million was shared amongst WA winners and more than $265 million was given to support the local community.
