A win for the husbands says Saturday Lotto winner

The search is on for two more syndicate players from last week’s Saturday Lotto draw which saw five players share in a million-dollar windfall.

The prize from Somes Newsagency in Fremantle, will see each of the five winners claim a $215,673 prize.

One of the winners, a couple from North Coogee, said his persistence finally paid off despite calls from his wife to stop trying with Lotto.

“This time it was a win for the husbands,” he joked.

“My wife sent me a clip from the paper about the win from Fremantle, so I grabbed the ticket off the fridge.”

That ticket will now pay for a nice dinner and a chunk off their mortgage.

Lotterywest spokesperson Pina Compagnone said two more syndicate players are yet to claim their six-figure prize.

“The great thing about syndicates is when the ticket matches the numbers, it means a win for multiple Western Australians,” Ms Compagnone said.

“WA’s tally of Division One winners for the year has now reached 44 with these prizes totalling $55.5 million.

“We would love to see this number grow with another winner in Tuesday’s $10 million OZ Lotto jackpot.”
