A whole Lotto love – A Valentine’s Day story

A south-west couple has been gifted the ultimate wedding gift with a million-dollar Saturday Lotto Division One win.

The hubby-to-be bought the winning $1,104,264 ticket from Seachange News and Gifts in Dunsborough on the morning of his wedding while his blushing bride was at the hair salon.

“I had to go to Coles but it wasn’t quite open yet so popped into the newsagency first and bought a ticket as I was feeling lucky because it was my wedding day,” he said.

“We checked the ticket the day after the wedding and just couldn’t believe it.

“It was meant to be.”

The couple, who have been together for more than 20 years before finally tying the knot, did not have a honeymoon planned but said after paying off the mortgage they will make some travel plans.

Lotterywest spokesperson Hermione Coleman said love was in the air this Valentine’s Day.

“It is so heart-warming to see a newly married couple able to start their marriage with such an amazing gift,” she said.

“Tomorrow’s $20 million Superdraw would make the ultimate gift to say “I love you”.”

Tickets can be bought up until 6pm in-store, online or via the app.
