Lotterywest is proud to support NAIDOC Week events around the State to recognise and celebrate the culture, history, and the important achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. This week is a wonderful opportunity to get involved in activities to support your local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community.

NAIDOC Perth

Lotterywest is proud to support the 2019 Perth NAIDOC Week to celebrate Aboriginal culture and reconciliation. A Lotterywest grant has supported entertainment and marketing costs for the opening event on 7 July.

NAIDOC Family Day

This Thursday the Town of Bassendean’s NAIDOC Family Day will be a chance to reflect and promote the vital impact Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community language and culture with music, dance and kids activities.

Merredin is hosting a range of activities embracing NAIDOC week, from Arts and crafts lead by the Yorga Ladies at Merredin Library to Nyoongar Sports at Merredin Regional Community & Leisure Centre

NAIDOC week celebrations in Toodyay.

This event represents the first NAIDOC event for the Town of Toodyay and supports reconciliation values and inclusive thriving community outcomes.

The event will feature storytelling sessions with Elders, arts and crafts, music, dance and sharing bush tucker.

Virtual Whadjuk – Screenwest

Virtual Whadjuk will immerse you in Whadjuk Noongar culture and Perth landscapes as they were before European settlement.

This is your chance to go on a virtual reality adventure and be welcomed to country.

Virtual Whadjuk runs at Yagan Square until Saturday, 13 July 2019.

Ngala Daa-Waangkiny | NAIDOC week 2019 Poetry Performance

Ngala Daa-Waangkiny is an intimate Aboriginal poetry performance which brings voices from across Noongar country together at the State Theatre Centre of WA to celebrate NAIDOC week 2019.
