Supporting William Langford

Thanks to you playing Lotterywest games, you're helping William Langford Community House care for residents impacted by COVID-19 with a $32,000 grant. The community group provides a range of support from child development, mental and physical well-being, to improving employment prospects for those in need.

The grant is making it possible for the organisation to provide food and petrol vouchers, and financial assistance for essential medicines. William Langford Community House manager Maria Cavill said the impact of the grant has been immeasurable.

“This support is focusing on members of our community who lost their employment or hours from work and are ineligible for the Jobkeeper or JobSeeker,” Ms Cavill said.

“We are simply just here for the community and we’re open every day.”

The Centre has been part of Langford for more than 34 years and has extended a range of services for up to 700 local community members each week.

“Our range of services have evolved over time and include a family day care, financial counselling, family support to now a service where people come and just chat to others because they feel isolated,” Ms Cavill said.

“Lotterywest has been instrumental in providing us with all the facilities we need to help our local community.”
