Supporting responsible play

We’re committed to responsible play and want to make sure that when you play our games, it’s an enjoyable experience for everyone. That’s why we’re an ongoing supporter of the annual initiative, Responsible Gambling Awareness Week, and will once again support the event in 2018.

Running from Monday 8 – Sunday 14 October 2018, the week is designed to raise awareness about ways to recognise if gambling is causing you, your family or friends harm and the importance of knowing the risks associated with gambling.

The week’s theme, ‘Show gambling who’s boss’, is intended to encourage those wanting help to take charge of their challenges with gambling to seek help and take back control. Balance and control are key to making sure gambling is harmless entertainment. You’ll notice we’re promoting the week in all Lotterywest stores, where you can also pick up a ‘Play responsibly’ brochure for more information.

If you or someone you know may have problems with gambling, talking about it could make a difference. There are free support services available with the Problem Gambling Helpline open 24 hours a day, seven days a week on 1800 858 858. You can be completely anonymous and the number won’t be listed on your telephone record if you phone from a landline. Professional face-to-face counselling is also available, free of charge.
