Picturesque Pingelly benefits

Driving at 100 kilometres an hour down Great Southern Highway in Western Australia’s wheatbelt you’d be lucky not to blink and miss the Shire of Pingelly.

With a population of just over 800, the picturesque town brings with it bucket loads of country charm, genuine character and a whole lot of heritage.

The Pingelly Railway Station has historical significance to the Town of Pingelly and its community. The Great Southern Railway, which followed the low laying parts of the Avon and Hotham valleys, helped in the establishment of the Town back in 1889.

That’s why the team at Lotterywest were over the moon (or the wheatbelt as it were) to recently contribute almost $25,000 toward structural repair work to the historic Station.

It’s only thanks to Lotto players and retailers that we’re able to support the things that make WA great – including preserving the cultural heritage of places like Pingelly Railway Station.

Did you know that every time you play Lotto games over a third is returned to benefit the WA community? That’s a win/win if you ask us!
