We all make New Year's resolutions. Get fit, get organised, find more me time, save money... And it's actually quite an amazing way to kick off a fresh year. One that really resonates with us is spending more quality time with the family: it's definitely something that can be difficult when life gets too crazy.
But 2017 is set to be a completely different change of pace for two WA families who each won $1,359,925 in the first Saturday Lotto draw of the year! Both have come in to claim their Division 1 prizes and we're loving their stories.
A ticket purchased from Lesmurdie Chemmart Pharmacy and News belongs to a syndicate of five family members who have been playing together for the past few months. The incredible windfall will mean each member takes home $271,985. And besides being big prizes on the horizon, they're excited how much of a difference this will make for all of them together. Paying off mortgages, buying new cars, decorating their houses and more on the cards - and that in our eyes definitely ticks off some common New Year's resolutions we have going in the office.
Our other Division 1 winners are a Gosnells family who bought their ticket from Good Fortune Lottery Centre in Maddington. After crying with happiness when realising they'd won, they're now planning on spoiling the kids more and paying off their mortgage. Just the excitement of not always having to buy homebrand groceries has them celebrating!
If these two stories are a sign of what to come in 2017 - we can't wait for this year to unfold.
