George from The Lucky Charm City Rail has seen history in motion during his 18 years as a Lotterywest retailer.
Set in the heart of Perth Station, George's store has had a front seat to commuter’s lives as the years go by.
“We’ve had customers here since they were school kids and they’re still visiting us, now in the work force or with kids of their own,” he said.
“It’s been a challenging year due to COVID-19, however the team and I have continued to work hard to keep our doors open.
“The more we can do, the better for the community.”
George says it's important to listen to customer’s needs, as well as engage with them and build friendships along the way.
“There are days when you’re feeling down and a simple joke with a customer is uplifting. Social interaction is so important,” he said.
