Saturday Lotto luck strikes Success with $2.1 million prize

Western Australia has just welcomed its tenth Division 1 Lotto winner for the year after one lucky local picked up a $2.1 million prize in the weekend’s Saturday Lotto draw.

The ticket, which remains unclaimed, was one of two Division 1 winners produced nationally with WA’s winner purchased from Gateways News & Lottery Centre in Success.

Owner Robyn McDermott said her Success store was no stranger to Lotto luck.

“We’ve got a pretty good track record here when it comes to delivering winners and there have certainly been some memorable ones,” she said.

“Just over two years ago one of our customers walked away with a $23.3 million prize and then the year before last, we sold two winning tickets worth a combined $3.5 million,” she added.

“It seems Lotto luck never left and is here to stay,” she said.

Meanwhile a Dunsborough couple have come forward to claim their $1.5 million Superdraw prize almost a week after the draw.

The couple said the news had been the talk of the South West town with the million dollar question on everybody’s lips being ‘where’s the winner?”

“Surprisingly we’ve been feeling pretty relaxed about the whole thing,” they said.

“First thing on our list is to help the entire family and then we’re travelling business class – now that’ll be fun,” they added.

The winning ticket was purchased from Sea Change News in Dunsborough and was the last of three WA Division 1 tickets produced in the $21 million Saturday Lotto Superdraw to be claimed.

When you play with Lotterywest, you’re not only in with a chance to win a prize you’re also contributing to all the things that make WA great with a third of money spent on games returned to support the local community.
