Overwhelming’ feeling turns into $ 1 million

A father’s ‘overwhelming’ feeling to buy a Saturday Lotto ticket has guided him to a million-dollar windfall.

The family from Perth’s northern suburbs bought the ticket from Northlands News in Balcatta, which is now worth $1,053,905.

The family’s father had an overwhelming feeling to buy a ticket last week – joking a million bucks would do it.

“We can now get rid of our mortgage,” he said.

“More importantly less financial stress means more family time.”

The Balcatta ticket was one of two Division One prizes sold in the weekend’s Saturday Lotto draw, the second winning ticket was produced through a Lotterywest membership online.

“WA is averaging more than one Division One Lotto winner a week and with such a strong start to this week, lets hope luck continues into this weekend’s Superdraw,” said Lotterywest spokesperson Pina Compagnone.

Tickets for the $20 million Saturday Lotto Superdraw are available until 6pm this Saturday from Lotterywest in-store, online and through the app.

Thanks to local players who buy tickets in the Superdraw, more than $1.2 million is set to be raised for the COVID-19 Relief Fund to support those community group impacted.
