Missing millions claimed ahead of Superdraw

Two unclaimed Division One Lotto prizes from last month, worth almost $1.5 million in prize money combined, have finally been collected.

The winning tickets were produced in various Saturday Lotto draws held last month.

Two long-time friends from Perth will split one of the prizes, which was a ticket purchased from Shamrock Newsagency in the Perth CBD worth just over $580,000.

The Perth friends had been playing the same numbers together for the last 15 years.

“They’re a completely random selection of numbers– we just plucked them out of a hat all those years ago,” one friend said.

Also winning on his own numbers was a Melville man who claimed the other Division One prize worth more than $810,000.

“I’ve stuck with these same numbers for over 20 years,” he said.

“My advice – keep your chin up, stick to the same digits and be positive – it worked for me!” he added.

The ticket was purchased from Melville Newspower in Bicton.

WA has welcomed 22 Division One Lotto winners so far this year.

Lotterywest spokesperson Pina Compagnone said the tally was set to grow even higher following tomorrow's Saturday Lotto Superdraw when a $20 million prize pool is offered.

“The Superdraw is proving popular amongst our local players, with Lotterywest estimating close to 700,000 tickets to be sold across the State in the draw,” she said.

“We encourage players to get their tickets early as draw day always proves very busy – in fact during our busiest hour tomorrow about 30,000 tickets will be purchased,” Ms Compagnone added.

Tickets in the $20 million Saturday Lotto Superdraw are available in-store, online or through the app.

When you play Lotterywest games, you’re helping to build a better WA with tickets purchased in this weekend’s Superdraw set to raise more than $4 million for the local community.
