Gosnells dog steak in $2.5 million win

One Gosnells dog will be the woof of the town, with its owner claiming a $2.5 million Saturday Lotto Division One prize.

The Gosnells duo are the owners of the winning ticket from the weekend, which they purchased from Ashburton Newsagency.

The winner said it was an unusual dream that compelled him to break his routine when it came to buying a ticket.

“I had a feeling to put my ticket on earlier than usual, if I wanted to win,” he said.

“When I got to the bottom of my ticket I saw the six numbers, I said to myself ‘what does that mean?’.”

He held onto his ticket for dear life until he could visit Lotterywest HQ, where he admitted he didn’t really have a chance to think about what to do with his winnings.

“I can now spoil my family and a steak for the dog,” he said.

Lotterywest spokesperson Hermione Coleman said excitement is set to continue, with a Cashcade promotion in tonight’s Wednesday Lotto draw.

“If there’s no Division One winner tonight, the $1 million prize will be shared by Divisions Two to Six,” Ms Coleman said.

“Tickets are available until 6pm from Lotterywest instore, online or through the app for tickets.”
