Another WA winner Set for Life

Western Australia has just delivered its second Set for Life 1st Prize winner in a month – the lucky winner will take home $20,000 each month for the next 20 years.

The winning Set for Life ticket was purchased from Fieldgate News and General Store in Balga.

It adds to the fast growing tally of 1st Prize Set for Life national winners this year which has already reached eight, only eight weeks into 2018.

Owner of the Balga store Tommy Ma was ecstatic to hear the news.

“I feel fantastic – I’m not sure which one of our customers will be taking home this prize but they definitely deserve it,” he said.

Mr Ma said he put the store’s luck down to a positive attitude and his special Buddha statue in-store.

“The Buddha was blessed in a Vietnam temple and shipped over just for us,” he said.

Since the game was launched in August 2015, seven WA players have picked up a Set for Life 1st Prize – sharing in almost $35 million of prize money.

Lotterywest is waiting to hear from last night’s Set for Life winner.

One third of every dollar spent on Lotterywest games is returned to the community – so even if you don’t win, the WA community does.

“Thanks to locals playing games like Set for Life, last financial year we were able to return over $265 million to the State,” Lotterywest spokesperson Pina Compagnone said.

“These funds support hundreds of local community groups including the Whitelion Youth Agency located in Balga which received a $15,000 Lotterywest grant in December to help support young people experiencing financial hardship,” she added.

Set for Life draws take place every night of the week, 365 days of the year. If won, there are up to four guaranteed 1st Prizes of $20,000 a month for 20 years in every Set for Life draw.
