‘Life is looking rosy’: says $7.5 million OZ Lotto winner

A FIFO worker from the Mid-West has been revealed as Western Australia’s $7.5 million OZ Lotto winner.

Working over thirteen hours a day, seven days a week, the winner said he spent more time at work than home.

“It’s hard going and it’s time to take a break now,” he said.

“Family is number one and I can spend more time with them – life is looking rosy,” he added.

“On the top of the list is spoiling mum and taking her on a cruise. It’s been tough for her the last few years with bad health,” he said.

WA’s newest multi-millionaire, who split Tuesday’s $15 million OZ Lotto jackpot with a player from Victoria, said he would also pursue his passion of helping animals.

“I’ve always wanted to open an animal refuge,” he said.

“This has given me the time and energy to do it – I just love animals, especially my dogs,” he added.

“They’ll be getting spoilt too – a couple of giant marrow bones and even new beds,” he said.

The $7.5 million prize is the third largest Lotto win in WA this year. It follows $20 million and $10 million wins produced just a few months ago.

Players have another chance to win big in tonight’s $20 million Powerball jackpot.

Players have until 6pm to purchase their tickets from Lotterywest in-store, online or through the app.

It’s not just thousands of winners set to benefit following the jackpot, thanks to players buying tickets, almost $3.5 million will be raised to support the WA community.
