A surprise Christmas gift could be on the cards for one WA family as a mother prepares to share her Lotto winnings with her children.
The eastern suburbs mum took out a share in Saturday Lotto’s Division One prize on 11 December, the ticket now worth more than $1 million.
A veteran Lotto player, the winning ticket came from a $20 Combo Pack, which gives you a chance to play in a range of games across the week.
The winner said she couldn’t believe her fortune and was about to change tactics.
“I’ve been playing with a Combo Pack for 18 months and I hadn’t won anything . . . I was about to ditch it, but it’s so easy to play and gives me a chance every day,” she said.
“I only found out I’d won when I went back to buy a Combo Pack for this week.
“I was quite shocked, we (shop assistant) both had tears.”
The winning ticket was purchased at Here’s Luck Lottery Centre in Cloverdale.
Lotterywest spokesperson Nikki Brown said Combo Packs were a popular gift choice at this time of year.
“They are great for those hard-to-buy-for relatives or friends and you could include a ticket in our biggest planned draw for the year – our $40 million Megadraw, which is set for Friday, 31 December,” she said.
Tickets for the $40 million Megadraw are available up until 6pm on the day of the draw from Lotterywest in-store, online or via the app.
