Mandurah man collects million dollar Lotto win after being made redundant

An unemployed Mandurah man came forward to claim his $1,022,833 Division One Saturday Lotto prize in October.
The man in his 50s said the million dollar win could not have come at a better time. He said it had been a tough financial time after losing his home during the economic downturn a few years ago and then being made redundant from his job only a few months ago.
The winning ticket was sold at Mandurah City News. Only four days later the same outlet went on to sell a $4 million winner!
Tourists take home $7.5 million Lotto win

In September, a $7.5 million winning ticket in an OZ Lotto draw was claimed by tourists passing through Geraldton on holidays. The retired couple in their 70’s, had plenty of wishes on their ‘to do’ list.
A backyard blitz, a holiday or two and doing up a vintage car were all things they were looking forward to. The couple also said they would donate to charities they support.
Bassendean man celebrates Lotto win with new socks and a haircut

A man from Bassendean wasted no time collecting his $1.2 million Division One prize from a Wednesday Lotto draw in August.
The modest winner said he would celebrate his million dollar news with a visit to the hairdresser and a new pair of socks.
He also planned on making a substantial donation to various charity groups, in particular UNICEF Australia which works across the world to promote and protect the rights of children.
Young Collie couple and Medina great grandmother collect in $30 million Superdraw

When $30 million went on offer in a July Superdraw, a young couple from Collie and a Medina great grandmother became $1.25 million richer after winning Division One.
For the young Collie couple with a baby on the way, the prize had come at the perfect time.
"We can renovate the baby's room and buy a new family car," the couple said.
The Medina woman said she planned on sharing her prize money with her children, grand children and great grand children.
Sorrento woman's double act of Division One Lotto luck

It was the second time lucky for a Sorrento woman who collected a Division One prize of $381,758 in June.
The woman’s June win, followed a Division One syndicate win in from the 1990s.
"I was shocked and felt like crying when I found out that I had won again. It all feels like a bit of a dream at the moment," she said.
The woman said the win had come at the perfect time and would help her to provide support to immediate family members.

A Perth southern suburbs couple celebrated their $2.1 million Lotto win in May with two meat pies and a bottle of champagne.
The couple purchased their Slikpik 12 ticket from Meadow Springs Lottery Centre and Newsagency - putting their Division One win down to being at the right place at the right time.
Helping family and splurging on a news dress were on the spending list for the multi-million dollar winners.
It was the fourth Division One ticket sold at Meadow Springs Lottery Centre and Newsagency in eight months.

A Perth grandmother celebrated an extra special Easter after claiming her $1 million Division One prize from a Saturday Lotto draw.
After 40 years of working, the woman planned to retire and live a comfortable lifestyle.
"It's perfect timing and follows some hard times," she said.
She purchased her winning ticket from Ocean Keys Lottery Centre in Clarkson, said she had won by selecting her own numbers which were based on her grandchildren's birthdays.

The young student purchased his $2.6 million Division One Monday Lotto ticket only 30 minutes before the draw closed.
“I'll be able to buy my first house and help my parents out. I would also like to make a donation to the Leukaemia Foundation," the man said.

The 58 syndicate members, aged up to 89 years old, described it as the best way to ever win Lotto. Plans for the syndicate members included home renovations, holidays, mortgage repayments and investments for the future. One member was also planning on walking the Kokoda Trail in memory of his father who was in World War II.
