Our support in 2010/11: $101 million
Ever since Lotterywest held its first Lottery draw in 1933, public hospitals have been amongst the most important beneficiaries of our funding. In fact, Western Australia’s public health services are by far the biggest "winner" from our lottery business with ‘40% of net subscriptions’ as specified in the Act provided to the Hospital Fund held by Treasury for the State’s public hospitals and health services. Last year, this was $101 million.
